The journey of losing over 305 lbs!
In 2010, listening to a relative, fifty-six at the time, talk about their health issues, medication list, diagnoses and realizing that it was the same list my father had when he died at age eight-two was all I needed to begin my journey to living healthy. I knew I didn't want to be this person in ten years; so at age forty-six, I went to my doctor, made sure that there wasn't any health issures for my weight and made the decision to lose weight.
On January 1, 2011, I gave up sodas for thirty-days. That's all I did. I wanted to see if I could actually succeed at doing this. During that month, I lost nine-pounds! I was inspired. In February, I began working my food intake and planning my menus. From that point on, I continued to lose weight. In 2012, at 220 lbs, I added exercise, running! seriously! I thought I was going to die my first time running since I had never done any workout. Now, at 142 lbs, I am working out at a gym six-days a week, running long distance, bowling, horseback riding, and learning to play golf.
My story is rockin' awesome, but it is one that you can do too!
